GENERAL

  • Living Tree Wellness is committed to increasing access to care for humanity—regardless of insurance status. Therefore, services are offered below traditional pricing across the board.

ACUPUNCTURE

  • Typically, short-term (acute) problems will respond within just a handful of treatments, while longer-term (chronic) problems may take up to twelve or more treatments before you begin to see consistent changes. It is recommended to come at least weekly when addressing acute and chronic concerns.

  • The needles that we use are very thin. While you may feel the needles being inserted, the sensation often goes away in about 30 seconds. Then, there is a calming affect that begins to take place.

  • Community acupuncture offers treatment in a quiet and relaxed group setting. Our hope is that you feel a sense of togetherness as part of your healing process. You can come with your friends and family for more fun! A community approach also offers a reduced rate compared to individual acupuncture.

  • Yes! For those who “really don’t like needles,” we offer acupressure as an alternative where a noninvasive seed/pellet with adhesive is used on the pressure point instead of a needle.

  • Yes! Many teens and children do acupuncture. However, acupuncture would not be appropriate for a child who could not sit still during the treatment. In this case, acupressure would be more suitable.

  • No. Acupuncture is born out of a philosophy based upon balance and the body’s own natural ability to heal when in balance. People of all races and religions (or no religion) can and do benefit from acupuncture.

  • The ear is believed to be a microsystem of the entire body. There are points on our ear for everything from emotional to physical and from internal organs to the tips of our fingers. Amazing, right!?

  • Acupuncture is a natural and effective way to improve overall wellness. Acupuncture is performed by using hair-thin, single-use, sterile needles. Some people report feeling light and energized while others feel relaxed—this is all normal!

JUICE PLUS+

  • Yes! The Healthy Starts for Families program offers Juice Plus+ capsules or chewables for a child (ages 4-18 or full-time undergraduate college student) free of charge for up to four years with an adult capsule/chewable purchase—amazing!! There is a $10 shipping charge every 4 months ($2.50 per month).

  • No—and you wouldn’t want to do this! All orders are designed for 4 months at a time because it takes our bodies 4 months to change on a cellular level. If you are going to give Juice Plus+ a try, you owe it to yourself to really try it and give it a chance to work in your body. Juice Plus+ has over 40 clinical, gold-standard research studies (link) proving it’s effectiveness. You have the control to cancel at any time and are never stuck with something that you do not want to continue.

  • Yes! It is always a good idea to communicate with and work in partnership with your personal healthcare provider. When it comes to Juice Plus+ it is important to recognize that it is not a supplement, rather whole-food nutrition in a capsule or chewable (it has a nutrition-not a supplement- label because it’s real food). Juice Plus+ has been around for almost 30 years. However, if your provider has not heard it, you can share the research page and the ingredients—fruit, veggie & berries!!

  • The real question is—can I afford not to invest in my health? Illness is disruptive, scary and expensive. Using time and money resources now as an investment in your health could help now and potentially pay off later by avoiding issues that might have been preventable.

HUNGER WITHIN WORKSHOP

  • Do you struggle with emotional, compulsive, or binge eating behaviors? Have you been on countless diets only to regain the weight plus more? Would you like to feel more in control and have a better relationship with your food? If you answered “yes” to one or more of these questions then you would be a great fit for this program!

Usually by the time someone is referred to me and The Hunger Within Workshop, they usually have been to countless health professionals for help and feel like they have “tried everything” only to feel disappointed, discouraged and even desperate. The Hunger Within Workshop is different in that we look beyond just the physical approach. We help you to uncover and identify the psychological forces that drive your behaviors and to achieve meaningful progress and lasting success!

  • The Hunger Within Workshop is not covered by insurance, however, it is offered at the price of most insurance copays (approx. $30 per session). Many clients have submitted their service receipt to their insurance company or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for personal reimbursement where applicable. The full amount of $249 for all sessions is due at the time of online registration. A payment plan is also available.

  • No – The workshop is self-contained and materials are provided each week. With that said, the workshop is based off of the workbook and is an excellent resource to have and go back to. To purchase the workbook, go to www.thehungerwithin.com and they will mail it directly to you.

  • There are a number of ways to keep on pace even if you have to miss a class. One way is to purchase the workbook and read along with the corresponding chapter(s). This will give you a good feel of the week’s content. If you don’t have the workbook, you can read through the weekly handout(s) and homework to begin practicing what you can.

At the beginning of each new class, I review content from the previous class, the homework, and answer questions. This will give you an overview of the previous week’s content. Finally, the most complete option is for you to schedule a 25 or 50 minute individual appointment with me to get the full content of the week you missed. You can find this option under The Hunger Within Workshop Section, Make-up Session.

  • You do not need to inform me if you have to miss a class. I trust that since you have made this commitment and investment in yourself, you want to be there. I believe that you are doing your best to be present each week and I understand that “life happens” so you might need to miss a class during our 8 weeks together.

  • Don’t worry, I will NOT collect your homework. Homework is for you and is designed to apply, extend and integrate your learning from week to week. The more you “put in” to the workshop, the more you will “get out” of it and this includes doing homework.

  • The workshop operates on the “challenge by choice” principle. Meaning, you decide what you want to share…and what you don’t. While there are opportunities for personal sharing, it is limited and balanced by the content that I will be teaching each week. Overall, I encourage you to challenge yourself to grow in whatever ways work best for you. Growth often involves stepping out of your comfort zone and I’m excited for your decision to take this next step!
